The first is a picture of Jesus... that soda that is. so sac-religious

Sunrise from our appartment

Walking to the internet like 5 minutes ago where we found a goat on our way... totes normal here but thought you would like the picture.

So this week was SO AWESOME!!! I wish everyone could of been with me as it unfolded.... I am so blown away at how much the Lord will bless us if we just hold on and continue in doing what we know is right.

Just as a recap:

First I’ll talk about Weberson.
He is a 14 yr. old who went to church last week after a friend had invited him, he went home from church and told his mom "I will be baptized on the 23rd" keep in mind this was before we had even talked to him. We passed by there on Wednesday and we find out his mom is an inactive member of 15 years, who left after someone offended her. She gave us a long sad story of how her other son was shot and killed, she blamed it on the fact that she did not allow him (her oldest son) to be baptized in "the church of the elders" she said that she supports Weberson 100% and will also return to activity in the church. We marked Weberson to be baptized on the 2nd of March, THIS SATURDAY!!! He already passed the interview and all is a go for his baptism. He also wants to serve a mission... because he is a boss.

Ian is an 11 yr. old. He is a nephew of a member who just returned to activity in the church. He will also be baptized this Saturday, but here is the best part of the story, last Sunday his Mom, Joelma went to church; we went to go visit her after Sunday, we had a lesson planned to show her why she needed to be baptized in our church (seeing as she had already been baptized). When we got there she sat down and said “I will be baptized together with my son." I had to put my hand on my chin to keep my jaw from falling off... I was like awesome but we got to talk about some things... like you need to get married with the man you are living with. She said alright let’s get married. On Saturday they went to talk to the bishop about some help with money and the bishop told us after the interview " LETS MARRY SOME PEOPLE!"" she already wants to go to the temple and she will be baptized on the 23rd if all goes well with the marriage.

We had another man we taught on Monday. He name is Edson, he talk to a member of the church about how he wanted the missionaries to pass by so we passed by. He is the next Elder’s quorum president. We got there and we had left him with a pamphlet about the restoration (normally people lose it by the time we meet with them) he had read it and had questions about the Book of Mormon... He was like "man you know I am just looking for you to peach to my soul." everything he said was just so right on with everything we have to offer. We marked like a bunch of stuff for him to read... Sometimes we get excited and give people a bunch of homework. We went back last night to talk to him, he told us you know what Elders, for two days after our conversation I felt the peace of spirit, I read that stuff and I didn’t get to think about it too much but I just felt so good. He well be baptized here shortly.

So that is a brief recap of the week I love you all and I know that this is the Lords church and it is true and anyone who wants to know can find out.

Love you all

Olá! Familia.

No Wednesday is not my new p-day it was carnival and there was nothing open! Nothing…. Ha-ha so we stayed in our house last p-day…. The flood was cool. Just got some of my letters wet but I was able to save it all. So no harm doneJ

This week was good we had transfers and nothing changed… I’m going to stay here and I’ll be with Elder King! That means Elder King is my longest companion yet! YAY!! We will keep on keeping on here in São Luis.

The zone baptized two families last week, it was really awesome and I am so happy at the work these great elders are doing, we have already interviewed a family that will be baptized next week too. So things are going well, as for my area… well I find most my joy in the service we do for the zone. We do have a little boy who went to our chocolate night a few weeks ago, he wants to be baptized and because of him his family is also progressing. His mom went to church this week; she also read the Book of Mormon and said she knows it is true! So we just have to continue to help her. Her son (Ian) baptism is marked for the 2nd of March. We have also been working with this awesome family Isaias and Da Paz who have been investigation the church since July… LONG TIME!!! They have just been waiting for the divorce from her old husband… they have 9 children and he doesn’t want to pay child support…rough situation. But the divorce will finally go through and this next moth they will get married!!! AND EVEN BETTER BAPTISED!!!!!!!!!! I’m excited for that. Well I love you all and miss you! Keep your chin up and always look for the positives that’s the best way to live J

WOW WHAT A WEEK!!

A bunch of MERICALS happened. I’ll just name a few.

We were teaching this family for the first time and like always we were going to do the opening prayer Elder King asked if there was anything they wanted him to ask for in this prayer. They explained about a friends friend who was in a coma, so we said a prayer and Elder King asked that the man be healed according the will of God. We went on with the lesson. 5 minutes into the lesson the wife got a text... the man had come out of his coma. We sat in silence for a while in awed at the MERICAL that had just taken place. It amazes me at how the Lord ALWAYS hears our prayers, all of them. I do not doubt that for one minute.

Another MERICAL: We had a rushed week; we were planning for meetings and doing a bunch of administrative work, doing the actual missionary work was tough to find time to do. We put the things necessary for our zone first and sacrifice our area a little bit. As we were going to church like always we passed by the houses of our investigators, we get to the church do a bit of cleaning and we wait by the door to greet people, well something strange happened... people came, a lot of people. The attendance last week was 81 whereas this week it was 110! A lot of those people were visitors who members had brought (we had 14 of them) I HAVE NEVER HAD 14 VISITORS IN CHURCH!!! EVER THAT’S CRAZY!! So we are going to go after the people this week and we should have a bit more success with baptisms here.

We had a cool lesson with a man named Denilson, he went to church last week and we taught him. He accepted a date in the first lesson and he accepted all of the restoration! It was so awesome! His date is for the 16th.

Well I love you guys and thank you so much for the support! Hope all is well after the super bowl! Next year I’ll be happy to see the redskins win it.

Love, Elder Howe

Hey family and peeps,

I went to Teresina again! Yay for losing a p-day every month! haha but its honestly 100% worth it, the stuff I learn there is priceless.

This week we had 8 people at church! I WAS LIKE WAAAAAAA it was so awesome! Elder King and I were so excited. That family we found last week (Itaguaçy and Raissa) they both went! It was awesome!

The bus on the way to Teresina was so awesome! We were basically in lazy-boyz, then the return trip was a bit different, man those busses get so cold and on the way home it was more like sitting in a dinning room chair. ha-ha... last night was a rough night’s sleep.

We are having success here in the zone. This month sadly we didn’t have a baptism of a family but next moth it’s going to be a "show" as the Brazilians say. A lot of family’s got married and Elder King and I are planning on doing interviews out the wa-zoo!! ha-ha

We also found out that those egg things/saw dust I found on our table is made by worms. we found a bunch of holes and they have these worms in them (you know from like star wars when try’s to eat melenuimfalcon but a 100000000x smaller) so we put tape over those holes too. Hahahah, I don’t know, they are related to the fly’s that flew out that one day but I’ll keep you all updated.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
