OPA!!!

Glad to hear week number 2 of the beach is going well! haha It is week number 30 million of area Angelim for me and it is also going well. haha

The photos are ones we took walking to the Lan house today, (where we check our e-mail, what do you call that in America? I don’t think you guys have them.... uhhh I forget!).

Here are some highlights from this week:

We had the farewell for President Mario Diaz, he will be leaving the 29th of June and we will get our new president, I don’t really think much will change... maybe more time for email (YAY!!!) maybe not.... maybe less time (AHHHHHHHHHHHH). President Diaz will be missed, he was super awesome.

This week our baptism fell through again this time due to "lady problems" she doesn’t live here but she will return in 2 weeks so we shall baptize her then! Just kinda frustrating, 2 weeks in a row our baptisms didn’t work out, guess we just got to keep working!

Last night we had a funny experience; walking home this homeless guy was walking toward us and proceeded to bend over to pick up a feather and put it in his hair, when we passed him he said "macaroni" haha get it like yankee-doodle? Just kidding, he only said good night to us, but the fact he had a feather in his hair made it really funny. haha

This week we went to visit a new member (she is awesome at giving us references and always teaching with us) but we were at her house (she is a seamstress) a girl came to drop off a dress, now normally I don’t do contacts with teenagers but I felt I should, so I talked with her, she had a bunch of questions, like how come we have such conviction, in what we do and this sort of thing. She thought about the spirit and prayer and the Book of Mormon during the lesson she then said "what is this feeling? I’m like all happy and I can’t help but smile!" I told her that it was “the Holy Ghost now we are having a baptism on the 8th of July will you be baptized?” she said “yes!” and she went to church and actually we moved the date for this Sunday, July 1st, pretty cool how the Lord works!

I love you all and miss you. I hope summer is going well! I MISS NVSL SWIM MEETS!

Love, Elder Howe

Hi Family and Others!

Big news - last week I WASN’T TRANSFERRED!!! Yay! 12 more weeks in Angelim! This is due to the fact that I’m a trainer again; I am training Elder De Oliveira, from Sao Paulo. He’s a boss. Other big news I was also called to be the district leader, this means I’m overseeing 4 companionships...it’s pretty much just more responsibility. hahah the photos are of me and Elder De Oliveira (he is tall). Elder Bastoss and Elder Cooper (my MTC comp who I now live with).

I have just been trying to get motivated again... after 6 months in the same area it is hard to be motivated...I have friends who are not interested in baptism that I pass on the street daily...old investigators and all that good stuff. It’s basically my home now, haha.

As for my birthday meal sorry I didn’t describe last week’s pictures; the one is Mac and Cheese and chocolate chip pancakes made by Elder Cooper and the Big Mac was a gift from Elder F Souza (who is now training in Sao Luise. WOOWOO!!! My birthday was awesome...and it now feels like a really long time ago haha.

This week we were riding a bus (no I didn’t fall), but we hit a guy on a bike... he got up and rode away.... HE GOT HIT BY A BUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wasn’t even mad... his face was one of confusion. It’s so crazy here sometimes! haha
Another interesting things that happened was I met a man with the name Tabais (yes like from Arrested Development) it brought back fond memories of that tv show. haha

This week we were without a baptism... so I’m kinda down because of that... but the work goes on. Oh a cool thing is now I do baptismal interviews for my district. I get to see how the gospel has changed people’s lives.

I love you all and miss you!

HEY MY AWESOME FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!
This week was really good we had 3 baptisms, Maira, Wanda, and Glaydson.  Glaydson is twenty-four, I know he looks pretty young but his just short... we like baptizing short people. hahah
This week we also had the temple dedication of Manaus. We got to watch it... I had never seen a temple dedication before it was awesome! So full of the spirit; it also reinforced my faith in this work I would love to have all the people I meet go to the temple and get married there, because in the temple marriage never ends, it’s not till death do you part... its FOREVER! What a blessing.
Wanda (one who was baptized) she told us the day of her baptism was the happiest day of her life! I was like so happy... she is looking for peace and continuing on this path living the teachings of Christ she will find it... and she knows that!! Man I was so happy.
Maria she had been reading the Book of Mormon and is now in Alma 42... She was investigating for 2 months and she is in ALMA!!! Holy cow....
Glaydson he has a family and now we will work with his family and show them how much more happiness they can have in this life... he told us the first day we met him... I have looked into all the churches with the exception of yours... I want to join the best church... we then taught him you don’t have to settle for the best church when you can join THE TRUE CHURCH.
Well I love you all I’ll let you know about transfers next week, and what when down... I feel like I probably won’t stay here... but who knows hahaha.
LOVE YOU TONS!!!!!

FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!!!!!!

This week was awesome! We had 2 baptisms and 3 confirmations!!! The Lord is blessing this work.

So first Michael was baptized on Friday and the same day he got the gift of the Holy Ghost (confirmation) we baptized him in like 2 feet of water, because our font is silly like that... so his knees almost didn’t go under. Elder F Souza baptized him and I helped.  For this reason I’m in white in the photo because I had to help him get him out of the water, it was so low hahah.

Nara was the other baptism, she is married to a member I told you about who was less active for 5 years and returned to the church after the birth of his baby.  He is super awesome and just wants everyone to have the same firm foundation he has found to build their family (see matt 7:24-27) --- I love using that scripture. Also my birthday miracle during sacrament was when Iracema walked in with assistance.  We baptized her like a month ago but as of yet she hadn’t been to church to receive the holy ghost... but there she was!  I was amazed... it has been tough because she has problems walking and... Well yeah, I’ll leave it at that.

Also Lucas received the holy ghost he pulled an all-nighter at work but he told us,  “I need to go to church because this Sunday I will get the gift of the holy ghost... and ta-da!! He was there.  It’s pretty awesome being a part of changing ppls lives.

Thanks family for the package i got all the decorations we will surely have a truck theme party today! The pocket knife has come in handy fighting off wild cats... JK Marlene. And the candy is supreme!!!!  You guys are the bomb diggity!

Love and miss you all!!!!

About the Photos,
That’s the neighborhood where the church is and yes I was coaching that kid how to run.... haha not really but the kids wanted to take photos again so I let him.... it also looks like he took some photos of the power rangers...

Baptism of Michael, with his aunt and cousin.

Baptism of Nara with Manuel, Ana Florencea (his mom) and Irmã Lurdes
